If you would like to use one of our recipes and bake the “cake” (healthy breads that go in lunches that the children just LOVE), contact us for all the particulars. This is a job you can do whenever it suits you – you just bake according to directions, cut and wrap the squares and freeze.
You can deliver them to our operations facility located at 355 NW Crawford Place, WSNC 27105, where we stockpile these in our big freezer and add them to the lunches as they are assembled.
When you deliver on any Saturday between 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM or Thursday between 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM, you can also pick up supplies to make more or you can donate these if you wish. Pumpkin bread, apple oatmeal bread, banana squares, black bean brownies – these are really good!

All recipes can be make in either (2) 9×13 pans or a 15×21 pan that can be purchased at Bed Bath and Beyond for $15.
The most important issue is safety! Make sure there are NO peanuts anywhere near your surface area. It is best to also wear your hair up or wear a baseball hat to prevent hair getting into the baked goods.
We need 1000 dessert 50 weeks a year so any time you have extra time and can bake it is so appreciated!! The baked goods can be brought to HOPE’s facility at 355 NW Crawford Place, WSNC 27105 between 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM on Saturdays or between 3:00 PM – 4:30 PM on Thursdays. Someone is also there at that time to let you in to put your desserts in the freezer there. If neither of those times work for you then please just email me and we can arrange another pick up time!!
We have some ingredients at our facility for you to come and get to help off set your costs. Please feel free to pick up what you need during the same drop off times listed above. Flour, sugar, canola oil, eggs, pumpkin etc…
The number of pieces that you should get out of a recipe are written on each recipe sheet. Don’t worry if you don’t get exactly that number. We just try and make the size of square as uniform as possible so each child gets the same size treat.
The squares should be approx. 1 ½ x 2 inches or close to 2×2 inches each.
The desserts need to be individually wrapped. I have found the best way to do this is to invest in a large box of saran wrap from Sams or Costco (they cost about $15) and last forever!! It makes the tedious act of individual wrapping go faster. If you would rather not purchase one of those them fold top sandwich bags are usually available at the meltdown for you to take and use and work great too! We also have large Ziploc bags in the ingredient room for you to take to put the desserts in after they have been wrapped. Please fit in as many as you can into a large bag then take a piece of paper or notecard and write either PUMPKIN, BROWNIE, or APPLE along with the DATE and NUMBER OF PIECES IN THE BAG. This helps us with inventory.

Directions to HOPE Operations Facility:
From the Goodwill at the corner of Coliseum and University, proceed south on University Parkway, toward downtown. Take a left at 25th Street (the first light south of Coliseum) and then take an immediate right onto Cherry Street. Go to the stop sign and turn left onto NW Crawford Place (you will see Kimberley Park Elementary School in front of you). Our facility is about 1/4 mile down the road, on the north side of the street.
