Our goal at HOPE is to build awareness about and make a direct impact on food insecurity and children’s health issues right here in Winston-Salem. It takes financial resources to execute our initiatives. Bringing individuals, families, businesses, foundations, faith-community partners, healthcare-sector partners and like-minded organizations together is essential to making true impact and lasting change. 2024 Events Include:
Moonlight Madness 5K – Friday, September 13th, 2024
HOPE of WS is partnering with Junction 311 again this year at the annual Moonlight Madness 5K and Monster Run that takes place downtown around Bailey Park. We are raising funds for our meal & produce distribution operations by supplying volunteers for this event.
Lots of fun activities at this event, such as managing the water station, helping at check-in or as a course monitor. We are looking for a total of 20 people. There are two options for volunteer time – either 5:30pm to 7:30pm OR 6:45pm to 8:45pm. Individuals, families and small groups are all encouraged to get involved! All volunteers will receive a t-shirt and adult volunteers will receive a ticket for a free beer.

7th Annual HOPE Golf Classic – Monday, October 7th, 2024 at Forsyth Country Club
Our 7th Annual HOPE Golf Classic is set for October 7th – registration opens at 9:30am and there is a Shotgun Start at 11:00am.
Enjoy a beautiful day out on an amazing course, with delicious food & beverages provided throughout the event.

MILES FOR HOPE – RUN 47 with Justin Bailey on Saturday, January 25th, 2025
For the fifth consecutive year, Justin will spend his birthday running his age in miles, all to raise money and awareness for HOPE of Winston Salem! Like the last two years, there will be a 5K, 10K, and 1 Mile Fun Run to take place as Justin runs laps around the loop at Kimberley Park. In addition, there is an option for a 47 mile “Fun Run” to go the full distance!

The Course is a .55 mile crushed gravel trail at Kimberley Park, just outside of downtown Winston Salem. 5Kers will run a little under 6 laps and 10Kers will run just over 11 laps. Each race will start at different times to allow people to spread out.
This is a family event complete with prizes, giveaways, and fellowship. Prizes will be awarded for Top Overall Female and Male finishers. Food and snacks will be available on site to help you fuel up post-race.
All proceeds benefit HOPE of Winston Salem and support our efforts to distribute nutritious meals to children in need and fresh fruits and vegetables to hundreds of families struggling with food insecurity right here in Winston-Salem.
