DONATE TIME
HOPE relies on the support of volunteers who dedicate their time to helping children and families who are in need. We have opportunities for almost any age (yes, children are welcome) – individuals, families, and groups. Please email info@hopews.org for more information about any of the opportunities listed below or additional special projects.
READY
Food Sorting and Staging
Friday 10:00 – 11:30
It takes a whole lot of teamwork to get thousands of pounds of produce sorted and staged. You might be loading bottled water into crates or playing real-life tetris with boxes of apples. Some lifting may be needed for this opportunity. Our Program Director will guide a series of tasks to help us get prepared for the big weekend of distributions.
Garden Helpers
Various Days, 9:30am – 10:00am
HOPE is growing vegetables at our Operations Facility. We need your help planting, watering, weeding and (hopefully) harvesting. We have 14 raised beds with various crops. Perfect for 1 person or a parent/child pair of volunteers.
Friday Food Pickups
Friday 9:00am – 11:00am
Every Friday morning, we have a short list of errands that need to be run off-site. You may use your personal vehicle or qualifying drivers may use our HOPE van to drop off produce to the Downtown Health Plaza, pick up produce from Vernon Produce, and pick up bread. Please note that the HOPE van only has one driver seat and one passenger seat.
Yadkinville Growing Project
Days and Times Vary, As Needed
We are now growing lots of vegetables at our Yadkinville Growing Project. Come help out our farm crew with harvesting and other projects. Adults or mature children with supervision are recommended.
